Playing Tests!

The first playing tests for all concert band classes are right around the corner! Students will be evaluated on Tone, Tempo/Rhythm, Note Accuracy, and Expression on a given exercise. These are substantial 100 point grades, so it is important that students are practicing and are prepared!

6th grade will be tested over #16 from the “Red Books”. Tests will occur on a 1-on-1 basis with Mr. Peterson during class. We will begin testing on Wednesday, 9/12, and continue it through the week.

7th grade will be tested over #5 from the “Blue Books”. Tests will be played individually in front of the class . We will also begin testing on Wednesday, 9/12.

8th grade will be tested over #3 from the “Green Books”. Tests will also be played individually in front of the class. Testing will be on Tuesday, 9/18.

High School will be tested on the etude handed out in class as well as scales from memory.  The etude may be recorded and submitted via Google Classroom (class code: dufbzn0), or performed live. The scales must be performed live for Mr. Peterson. Recordings and live performances may be done before or after school until Wednesday, 9/19. On Thursday, 9/20, students who have not submitted recordings or live performances will play their tests individually in front of the class.
